About

I build small, useful businesses and the systems that run them. I've spent years being the person who makes things work, and I'm now more interested in work that doesn't need me there all the time. I think about AI, ownership and freedom, and about questions older than any of them. I'm still exploring.

Background

I've run businesses where I handled the operations, the people, the customers, the logistics and the property: the practical consequences of being the one responsible. That taught me how things actually work, and what it costs to hold them together by hand.

For a long time I pushed very hard. Now I'm building a different relationship with work, money and time: fewer things that need me every day, more things that are useful and durable on their own.

How I work

  • Build real things. A working product teaches more than a plan about one.
  • Say where things stand. Every project here has an honest status, including the paused ones.
  • Automate the routine, keep people for judgment. Anything irreversible waits for a human yes.
  • Keep questions open. I'd rather be uncertain out loud than certain and wrong.

Conversations I welcome

  • Partnerships on any venture in Build, especially TakeIn and MyLifeConsultant.
  • Small businesses with an operational problem that might not need a person in the loop.
  • People thinking seriously about AI, ownership and how to live well alongside it.
  • Thoughtful disagreement with anything in Think.
